In the centre of the village, a large skating rink will welcome experienced or novice skaters alike for 4 sessions each lasting one and a half hours.
The heart of the village is lit up when Sweden offers the traditional Christmas tree for the St. Lucy celebrations. In a wintry setting which sets the tone of the festivities, visitors will discover the village and the different attractions proposed each weekend. Children and their families will be able to make the most of the play area; a big wheel, inflatable attractions, but also tale-telling, magic, make-up and shows … fun for all!
The “Journée du Haut Pays Niçois”, an annual get-together with sheep, goats, horses and which gives the Promenade des Anglais a decidedly pastoral look, around the band stand vintage farm vehicules, lumberjacks, shepherds, and other farmers and craftsmen offer tasting sessions and sell their produce.
Nice Carnival 2009 : King of Masquerades
from 13th February to 1st March 2009
Nice Carnival, the most important event on the French Riviera, for its 125th edition will be « King of Masquerades », from 13th February to 1st March.
The theme for 2009 evokes the art of concealment in every sense : wearing a mask, changing one’s appearance, staging, in short the art of deception. From a simple disguise to plastic surgery… the Carnival is no longer the only realm of fancy dress and device in all its forms, represented in a modern and outrageous fantasy …

Cartoonists from the most important international newspapers, privileged witnesses of their time and their culture, have once again been approached to create the visual identity of a modern carnival … whilst respecting tradition.
All the Carnival parades will be located on the new place Massena and around the garden Albert 1st and the Flower parades will take place along the Promenade des Anglais or sea-front and will feature numerous innovations…
From 13th February to 1st March, the Carnival period, in addition to its festivities, offers a wonderful opportunity to discover Nice in winter : the mildness of the climate, the brightness of the sky and the art of living on the French Riviera. Natural places of interest, a thriving cultural and artistic life, a centre of gastronomy all contribute to a palette rich in emotions.
