Bellet wines
One cannot evoke " gastronomie niçoise " without mentioning wines. Widely appreciated by connaisseurs, " les coteaux de Bellet " and the vines of Villars produce remarkable wines whose reputation extends beyond national boundaries. Nice is the only large city to boast a " cru d'appellation controlée ", which is also the oldest " cépage " in the world : Le Vin de Bellet, red, white and rosé. Its annual production is approximately 50 000 bottles per year. The vineyards on the Nice hillside welcome groups and individuals and show their production in situ. These attractive visits demonstrate local cultures and traditional manufacturing methods.
