To the northeast of Nice, the gorges of the Roya-Bévéra rivers reach the Mercantour National park, near the site of Vallée des Merveilles. Sospel occupies a privileged position, between the sea and the mountains. The road then rises all the way to Tende, the last town before the Italian border. The tunnel under Col de Tende is at an altitude of 3900 ft above sea level and leads to Cuneo and Turin in Italy.

This beautiful road leads from Nice over the Col de Nice, then over the Col de Braus towards Sospel. Then, it continues towards Tende over the Col de Brouis, and through the towns of Breil sur Roya and Saint Delmas de Tende.
