Located in the centre of the peninsula, the oldest zoological garden on the French Riviera has some 3 000 species on an estate of 4 hectares managed by the national institute for agronomic research.

Several theme gardens can be visited in this estate of 5 hectares with direct access to the sea.

The Villa Fort France at Saint Jean de Grasse was built around 1930 by Lady Fortescue, a British novelist who told her story of moving to Provence in a famous book called "Perfume of Provence". For 50 years, one of the most beautiful gardens in the region was cultivated. More than 500 plant species and typical trees from the Grasse region. As well as specially grown tropical specimens provide a magical show of colours and fragrances that change with each season, yet which remain harmonious thanks to the diversity of flowers, leaves, barks, colours and shapes.
The garden is open to groups only in the morning, from the middle of april to end of june, and in automn.

The castle, built on the foundations of a 9th century fortress, contains two museums.
Gardens landscaped in 17th century (French gardens desigend by Le Nôtre and Italian garden). Suspended above the Gorges du Loup, the gardens feature box-wood and yew trees making up an island of greenery.
Open all year round.

This 19th century castle is surrounded by a superb park overlooking the sea. The gardens are the work of Mary Clews, the wife of the American sculptor Henry Clews who restored the beginning of the century castle in a gothic spirit. Along the different paths one can admire sculptures of fantastic or gothic inspiration.
